Got to meet a local fellow SRT owner today and check out each other's rides ..... Once again , the first thing I hear is how " GREAT " my car sounds. The Flo Pro Twister muffler on my car has continually recieved praise from almost every SRT-4 owner who has heard it.
Thanks for the compliment Ashley , and thanks BDJ Racing for my bad ass side exit exhaust with Twister muffler ......

Want a deeper sounding exhaust ? Want a quiet exhaust under normal driving conditions ? Want a BEAST of an exhaust at WOT ? Want the highest flowing muffler you can buy vs. open pipes ? Then buy this :

Sound clip ? Worthless ?

He he he ..... I'd estimate there has probably been 600 other SRT-4 owners who have heard my car ( considering statewide meets and such in several different states ) , and a HUGE , HUGE percentage of people who hear my car , remark about how different it sounds when compared to the other aftermarket exhausts on the market ..... And , on a proven low measuring Dyno Dynamics dynometer I placed these numbers while going through my muffler , I'd say a sound clip is pretty much unnecessary ..... :jester:
I need a better camera for sound .... I'll try and borrow one soon .

Oh lord ......

Any Dyno's before and after install? Its kind of hard to believe something that looks as restrictive as that and not be as ristrictive.
It's called a venturi ..... Exhaust gasses are literally pulled out and sped up as they exit ..... VERY , VERY unrestrictive .......
BDJ Racing did back to back dyno tests on this muffler. Lost 1.5 hp vs an open 3" pipe

I didnt mean to make it sound like I was knocking on the product, but if its been dynoed and proven then sounds like a good product.

Read for yourself .... But like it or not , it is one BAD MUTHA

Twister muffler sound clips here :
http://www.flopro.com/mufflersounds.htm# ..... if this works , it's the two on the bottom of the page.
A lot of the cars there sound great. And many here and including myself are not doubting you about your car. We are just interested in hearing how it makes the srt-4 sound. There are many different types of great sounding exhausts...

How quiet is your setup compared to stock exhaust? During normal driving and WOT?

I have a 3" MaxxFab turbo back (no cat) mated to a HKS Stainless Ti muffler. I added a Twister muffler to help reduce noise and it barely had any affect. Waste of $40.

well then you would be wrong. This thread is worthless without a video or sound clip. We get that you like the muffler....awesome. but how it sounds is pretty damn important.

this thing only costs 40$? now he's DEFINATELY gonna have to prove that it's not crap.... :jester:

With normal around town driving , but also much lower sounding. At WOT though , it fuggin ROARS.
Basically , it doesn't have that nasty raspy resonance of the stock exhaust.

Commissions ?

I wish !!! I've got a car that is modded to hell and back , and the muffler is what inevitably draws the comments and questions from other SRT owners. That's why I'm giving the heads up.
I'll try and get a sound clip of my car ..... but NO , I don't have to prove anything , nor do I have anything to prove .....

That is , if you added the Twister to an exhaust that already had a muffler ??? :wah?!:
Funny, I don't see anything on their site stating "will work best if you don't already have a muffler".

If its purpose is to cancel out noise it should not matter if you have a muffler at the end.

those "tornados" actually work. we dyno'd a mid 90s impalla, and it gained 7hp before and after. these were back to back runs no "tornado" first, then installed the part, then reran it. 7hp isnt bad

Did you have the shorter one or the longer one? The cheaper one on the net (by about 20 or more dollars), is a shorter verison of the one that BDJ's sells. I installed the Twister on my MPX turboback and am very pleased with the results. Cruising above 70 mph or so starts to get a drone. The drone is reduced over what it was without the Twister, but the drone is definately still there. Over all it made me happy though.

This is the second video I made of it (I think my first video captured the sound better and I was able to get some traction unlike this sand covered road :) ). Anyway, you can get a small idea of how it sounds.

BDJ's doesn't carry an exclusive size Twister muffler. You can get them anywhere online. Flo-Pro carries two sizes of the 3" in and out Twister, a 12" body and a 17" body. Yes I bought the 12" body but that shouldn't matter. I expected some kind of noise reduction that was noticable. I wasn't expecting a totally quiet car just something that I could honestly say, yeah its a little quieter. But that didn't happen.

Doesn't suprise me evo77 ......

The Twister is NOT like other mufflers ..... It doesn't slow down , re-direct , or filter the exhaust gas. It actually speeds the gasses up , but uses a dual flow path to effectively cancel out the noise from each other.
In other words , it makes MOST exhausts quieter and lower sounding without significant hp loss.
In your application , the exhaust gasses were already affected ( flow ) by your present muffler. I'll guarantee you this for sure ...... The reduction in decibles as compared to NO muffler on an SRT is DRASTIC !!!!

The dyno you show is impressive, but it doesn't show a before and after.

It also doesn't show a comparison of the Twister vs another muffler (say Magnaflow).......so you really can't say, "Want the highest flowing muffler you can buy vs. open pipes ? Buy this:"............ unless of course you have dyno'd your car with other mufflers installed, with nothing else being different.

Fact is you have not stated any empirical evidence that backs up what you say.....for that matter the Pro-Flow web site doesn't offer any evidence either...no cfm ratings, no dyno's........nothing.

As for the Twister not redirecting the flow of gas......what do you think that spiral baffle does????? Splits and redirects some of the flow/sound around the core. As the two different air flows meet at the end of the muffler, the sound waves cancel out some of each other which reduces noise.

And, while the muffler may have a vacum effect that helps exhaust flow through the muffler at some point in it's design, it's theoreticatlly impossible for it the exhast gasses move faster at the end of it, than it did when it entered.

Backpressure measurements would be the best for measuring the resistance of the muffler....any chance you have that data avail?? Or backpressure measurements of the Twister vs open pipe vs another muffler??

Give us something else to go on other than repeating the Pro-Flow web site info.
